Ingredients

This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly. Original recipe (1X) yields 10 servings.

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups chopped cabbage
  • 1 (10 ounce) can low-sodium cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350F (175C).

Step 2: In a deep skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

Step 3: Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned, about 5 minutes.

Step 4: Stir in the chopped onion, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cook for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until the onion softens.

Step 5: Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet and cook until the cabbage becomes tender, about 5 minutes.

Step 6: Pour in the cream of mushroom soup and stir until well combined with the beef and cabbage mixture.

Step 7: Open the crescent roll packages and unroll the dough. Lay 8 pieces of the dough in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish, pressing them gently to fit.

Step 8: Spoon the beef mixture evenly over the dough in the baking dish.

Step 9: Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar and mozzarella cheeses over the beef mixture.

Step 10: Place the remaining 8 pieces of crescent dough on top of the cheese, pressing down slightly.

Step 11: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
