I don't usually like chocolate, but this was amazing. I used a 100% cacao unsweetened block of chocolate and blended it with condensed milk and a little bit of milk before heating. It turned out incredibly smooth and delicious!

This is incredible! I added half a teaspoon of cinnamon to make Mexican hot chocolate. I used half and half because it's what I had on hand. The taste was delicious and the texture was so smooth! I topped it off with a marshmallow. It was perfect for a snowy day!

Great recipe! My family loved it. I decided to add an extra 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla and cooked it in a crockpot on low. It took around 4 hours for the chocolate chips to melt and for it to reach the perfect drinking temperature. The flavor was rich and the color was beautiful. I can't wait to make this recipe again!

Absolutely delicious, but incredibly dense. Even after adding three extra cups of whole milk, it remained extremely thick. However, my kids adored it, as did the neighbors.

Review: This dessert was delicious, but it's important to note that it is quite indulgent. It also ended up being quite thick in consistency. Next time, I'll probably add some extra milk to dilute it a bit. I prepared this in a slow cooker, which worked out nicely - although it required frequent stirring as the chocolate melted. However, it stayed warm until we were ready to enjoy it. One thing to mention is that the chocolate tends to separate and solidify on top as it cools, so the best solution might be to simply drink it more quickly.

For those who feel this is overly sweet, I suggest replacing sweetened condensed milk with evaporated milk. Sweetened condensed milk is essentially evaporated milk with added sugar. Evaporated milk undergoes the same process but lacks added sugar, providing creaminess without the sweetness. Personally, I prefer less sweetness, and this will be my go-to option going forward.

I prepared this hot chocolate in a cast iron Dutch oven over a fire during an outdoor party. I served it to all the kids and they absolutely loved it! Many of them mentioned that it was the greatest hot chocolate they had ever tasted.
