Chicken Bone Broth Recipe

Ingredients

  • 8 pounds chicken feet
  • 2 medium rotisserie chicken carcasses
  • 8 carrots, chopped
  • 8 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 medium onions, halved and skins left on
  • 1 bunch fresh thyme
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon whole black peppercorns
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 2 large bay leaves
  • Water to cover

Directions

Step 1: In a 12-quart stockpot, combine the chicken feet, chicken carcasses, carrots, celery, onions, fresh thyme, garlic powder, salt, whole black peppercorns, ground black pepper, and bay leaves.

Step 2: Cover all the ingredients with water.

Step 3: Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to a simmer.

Step 4: Let the broth simmer for 24 hours. Add more water if necessary and stir occasionally to ensure all ingredients are evenly cooked.

Step 5: Once the simmering process is complete, strain the broth through a colander lined with cheesecloth to remove all solids.
