Review Update: I recently tried a recipe using Jack Daniels original BBQ sauce, with sliced onions and 3 large chicken breasts. Following suggestions from other reviewers, I added some flour towards the end of cooking to enhance the flavor. To prevent dryness, I had to increase the cooking temperature for the last 2 hours of the 6-hour recipe. I shredded the chicken earlier and served it on fresh ciabatta rolls with pickles and red onions. It turned out to be incredibly easy and delicious, especially when paired with sweet potato fries. The dish was a hit with everyone at the table – plates were practically licked clean.

Here is the rephrased review: "I enhanced the dish by including 4 cloves of minced garlic and half a diced onion. Since the chicken breasts were not frozen, I only cooked them on low for about 4 hours. Afterward, I shredded the chicken and mixed it back into the sauce, adding a tablespoon or two of Wondra, a non-clumping flour commonly used in sauces and gravies. This helped thicken the sauce beautifully. I used this mixture to stuff baked potatoes, topping them with cheddar cheese and chopped onions. These potatoes surpassed the ones from our local BBQ restaurant! I paired them with fresh corn on the cob (cooked in the microwave) topped with parmesan butter."

Simple and delicious. I prepared the recipe with fresh chicken breasts and used only 3 large ones. Following the advice of previous reviewers, I used half a 12 oz bottle of BBQ sauce in the mix, then cooked on HIGH for 3 hours. After shredding the chicken, I added the remaining BBQ sauce and cooked on LOW for another hour. The result was tender and perfectly sauced, with a thick consistency that wasn't watery or runny at all.

Amazing recipe! I have prepared this dish numerous times and it pairs perfectly with pork tenderloin. I receive so many compliments on my pulled pork sandwiches that I hesitate to confess how simple they are to make.

We absolutely adore using this pulled chicken in our sandwiches! I consistently rely on frozen chicken breasts and encounter no issues. I like to enhance the flavor by including diced onions and around 2 teaspoons of liquid smoke. After shredding the chicken, I return it to the slow cooker for the final hour, allowing it to absorb all the delicious sauce without becoming watery. Give it a shot! This method has never failed me!
