Wow, this dish is absolutely delicious! It was a hit with not only me but also with my husband and kids. I decided to double the recipe and bake it in a 13'x9' pan. Taking into account feedback from previous reviews, I reduced the amount of milk (using 1-3/4 cups of milk in total for the doubled recipe) and also added 8 oz. of shredded cheddar cheese (mixing it in before topping it with the tater tots). The result was perfect – creamy and moist without being too runny. The tater tots were cooked thoroughly and had a great texture. I will definitely be making this again!

I made this dish again, using whatever ingredients I had on hand, and it turned out even better than the first time. I cooked ground meat with garlic, red bell pepper, celery, onion, and a generous sprinkle of garlic salt. Then I mixed in soup and milk, poured it into a casserole dish, and topped it with frozen mixed veggies and cheese. I refrigerated it for a day – overnight would have been fine too. Later, I baked it covered for about 30 minutes, then added tater tots and baked uncovered for another 30 minutes until the potatoes were done. It was a delicious and hearty meal for a cold night, and I appreciate the convenience of making it ahead of time. Thanks to Drew for the fantastic recipe, and to "something different again?!" for the inspiring picture of mixed veggies and cheese.

Attempting to recreate someone else's childhood memory, I followed this recipe with some modifications and tips from others. I doubled the ingredients, using two pounds of ground beef, 32 ounces of frozen green beans, onions, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, cheddar jack cheese, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. I then baked the mixture in a sheetcake pan and an 8x8 Pyrex dish, topping it with more cheese, French's fried onions, and a large package of tater tots. In our family of seven with members from different generations, the feedback was mixed. While TK loved it, the teenagers were not impressed. Personally, I enjoyed the buttery finish, although the draining of the beef and onions in the colander didn't make much of a difference.

Great basic recipe. I was looking for something to make for my teenage son and this was perfect. I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and made a few additions. I used a full pound of ground beef and cooked it with diced onion, garlic, steak seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce. After that, I mixed in the other ingredients and added a cup of cheese. I also reduced the milk to 1/2 cup. I layered the meat, soup, beans, and cheese mixture, then topped it with fried onions, more cheddar cheese, and tater tots. After baking for 30 minutes, I broiled it to crisp up the tots. The result was absolutely delicious!

This dish was incredibly delicious. I started by sautéing shallots in olive oil, then added the beef which I seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. I stirred in just 1/2 cup of milk and a can of Campbell's Low-Sodium Cream of Mushroom soup. Instead of green beans, I used broccoli and topped the tots with extra sharp cheddar. It was absolutely delicious!

I absolutely adored it! And you know what? The leftovers were even more delicious. However, I substituted cheese for milk, but other than that, I followed the recipe exactly as it was written :)

Simple and delicious recipe. I reduced the amount of garlic salt and added extra beans for more flavor.
