Bronco Burger Recipe

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 5 fresh jalapeno peppers
  • 4 pounds ground beef
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg
  • cup steak sauce (e.g. Heinz 57)
  • cup minced white onion
  • 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabasco)
  • 1 pinch dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • cup crushed Fritos corn chips
  • 8 large potato hamburger buns
  • 8 slices pepperjack cheese

Directions

Step 1: Preheat your grill to high heat. Once its ready, place the jalapeno peppers on the grill and roast them until theyre blackened on all sides. Once done, place them in a plastic bag to sweat and loosen the charred skin. Rub off the blackened skin, remove the seeds if desired, and chop the peppers.

Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped jalapenos with the ground beef, salt, pepper, egg, steak sauce, minced onion, hot pepper sauce, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, and crushed Fritos corn chips. Mix everything thoroughly by hand until the ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 3: Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball. Then, flatten each ball into a patty, ensuring they are uniform in thickness for even grilling.

Step 4: Place the patties on the preheated grill and cook for 10 to 15 minutes, flipping once. Grill until they are fully cooked to your liking. For added enjoyment, I like to enjoy a cold beer while grilling one beer before flipping and another while waiting for the patties to finish cooking.

Step 5: Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the grill and place each one on a hamburger bun. Top each patty with a slice of pepperjack cheese, then assemble the burger and enjoy!
