Easy Savoy Cabbage Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 head savoy cabbage, sliced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- cup heavy whipping cream (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg (or to taste)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Directions
Step 1: Begin by placing the sliced cabbage into a pot. Cover it with cold water and bring the mixture to a boil.
Step 2: Once the water reaches a boil, cook the cabbage for about 1 minute.
Step 3: Drain the cabbage and rinse it under cold water to stop the cooking process. Squeeze the cabbage with your hands to remove as much moisture as possible.
Step 4: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the drained cabbage, heavy cream, nutmeg, salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
Step 5: Stir the mixture and cook for 2 to 4 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and creamy.

My entire family adores this dish. I ended up with a large savoy cabbage, so I only used half of it. Initially, the dish seemed a bit dry, so I added twice the amount of whipping cream, and it turned out delicious.
