I tried out this recipe and made a few tweaks to it. I used 3 cans of Snows condensed clam chowder, 3 cans of cream of celery soup, 3 cans of cream of potato soup, 2 pounds of fresh minced clams, a pint of half and half, a pint of heavy cream, and seasoned it with salt, pepper, and Old Bay Seasoning to my liking. I have made the adjustments suggested by Deena and the other helpful cooks, and my dish is now in the slow cooker! The only issue is that I accidentally used fat-free half-and-half instead of full-fat. Despite this mishap, I'm hoping that the dish will turn out alright after cooking all night. I didn't realize that the recipe required cooking all day until it was too late, so I opted to make it on the stove instead (for about 30 minutes). Surprisingly, it turned out really creamy and delicious. I recommend adding more clams if you choose to cook it this way. I feel that the longer cooking time as instructed would have intensified the flavors more. Nonetheless, it made for a nice quick meal. I will definitely make it again. Next time, I'll try the longer cooking version to see if the difference is significant enough. Perhaps the flavor will be even more intense that way. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed the dish.
