Bacon Apples Recipe

Cook Time: 8 minutes

This simple yet delicious recipe is perfect for outdoor cooking or a cozy night by the grill. A delightful combination of sweet apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and crispy bacon, its a unique dessert or snack everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 2 apples, cored
  • cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (or more to taste)
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

Directions

  1. Build a campfire and allow it to burn until a bed of coals has formed. Alternatively, preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat.
  2. Rake the coals into a flat bed on one side of the fire or prepare the grill by ensuring it is evenly heated.
  3. Place the cored apples in a loaf pan. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Spoon the sugar and cinnamon mixture into the center of each apple, filling them generously.
  5. Place the loaf pan with the apples onto the campfire or grill, cooking for about 3 minutes. This will allow the apples to soften slightly and absorb the flavors.
  6. Carefully remove the pan from the heat and sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the apples.
  7. Return the pan to the fire or grill and cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the bacon to crisp up and the apples to become tender.
  8. Once done, remove the pan from the heat. Let the apples cool slightly before serving.
