Cook Time: 8 minutes
This simple yet delicious recipe is perfect for outdoor cooking or a cozy night by the grill. A delightful combination of sweet apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and crispy bacon, its a unique dessert or snack everyone will enjoy.
Ingredients
- 2 apples, cored
- cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (or more to taste)
- 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
Directions
- Build a campfire and allow it to burn until a bed of coals has formed. Alternatively, preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat.
- Rake the coals into a flat bed on one side of the fire or prepare the grill by ensuring it is evenly heated.
- Place the cored apples in a loaf pan. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Spoon the sugar and cinnamon mixture into the center of each apple, filling them generously.
- Place the loaf pan with the apples onto the campfire or grill, cooking for about 3 minutes. This will allow the apples to soften slightly and absorb the flavors.
- Carefully remove the pan from the heat and sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the apples.
- Return the pan to the fire or grill and cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the bacon to crisp up and the apples to become tender.
- Once done, remove the pan from the heat. Let the apples cool slightly before serving.
