I'm on a diet, so I decided to make a few adjustments to the recipe. Instead of using butter, I opted for a couple of sprays of canola pan spray. I used skim milk, doubled up on the cinnamon and sugar but replaced sugar with Splenda. I added half a chopped banana to the mix, and used 100% whole wheat bread at 50 calories per slice. A final sprinkle of cinnamon and Splenda before microwaving gave it a delicious sweet crunch on top. This modified version totals around 250 calories, leaving room to also enjoy a juice or smoothie with it. You can get creative with different spices and mix-ins to suit your taste. I personally enjoyed the addition of fresh fruit, but nuts, chips, or dried fruits paired with other spice combinations would also be delightful. The best part is, you only need a cup and spoon to clean up when you're done!

After reading the reviews warning about soggy bread, I decided to tweak the recipe by only adding a splash of milk to the egg mixture. I carefully monitored the amount of bread I incorporated to ensure the right consistency, as I cannot tolerate soggy bread. Using just one slice of cinnamon bread, cut into cubes, was sufficient for the dish, with an abundance of cubes left over. Prior to microwaving, I included some blueberries for an extra burst of flavor. The final result was absolutely scrumptious, especially when topped with a drizzle of syrup and additional fresh fruit. I thought a dusting of powdered sugar would complement it beautifully. The taste resembled that of French toast, prompting me to ponder whether this creation was, in fact, simply a variation of bread pudding.

This dish is not exactly like French Toast, but it stands on its own as a tasty and convenient meal. I swapped white sugar for brown and gave it a quick stir at the 60-second mark. Unable to access my maple syrup, I sprinkled fresh blueberries on top, which turned out delicious! Next time, I'll mix them in before cooking. This recipe offers endless possibilities for variations, from sweet to savory. For a different twist, I skipped the cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla and added savory ingredients like garlic powder, basil, oregano, re-hydrated onions, and bacon bits or minced ham. I used 12-grain bread for that version, and I'm excited to experiment with more combinations in the future.

Super simple and delicious! Maybe it's a bit unconventional, but I enjoy having peanut butter and syrup with my French toast. I decided to mix them in a bowl along with two additional ingredients. The result was perfect!

The experience was decent overall, but unfortunately, part of the bread was too soggy, which was quite unpleasant. My suggestion would be to stick to making traditional French toast for a better result.

I cooked it for an additional minute, but it was still too soft.

I really enjoyed it. I opted for powdered sugar on top instead of syrup.
