I absolutely love smoothies!! They are one of my favorite breakfast items....except I made this one for my lunch today. I love the oatmeal in it, but think that 1/2 a cup is a little too much. I used quick cooking oats since that's what I normally have on hand and substituted a container of strawberry yogurt for the strawberries. I have not been able to find a decent batch of strawberries yet this year. They are not sweet for some reason, so I'm a little hesitant to buy them. Anyway, the oatmeal made this smoothie VERY filling and I too omitted the vanilla and sugar since I used vanilla flavored soy milk. Great new find...thanks Astrophe.

FABULOUS! I have never tried a smoothy with oatmeal! Who'da thunk! Well this is great. I also tried a variation of using fresh juice in place of the soymilk. Fresh pineapple juice was especially yummy! Also, when you use juice in place, no sugar or vanilla is needed. Thanks for this great idea. I am thinking of trying wheat flakes too!

This is a great morning smoothie. If I don't have frozen strawberries I make sure the banana is frozen.. one of them has to be or else it is too liquidy. Also, substituting half the strawberries with peaches is a great combo too. This recipe says 2 servings, but really it's the size of a regular smoothie you'd get at a place like Jamba Juice.

This is probably the best strawberry oatmeal smoothie I've had in a long time! I don't have a powerful blender, but 1/2 a cup of oatmeal turned out to be just fine (if you blend the milk and oatmeal first, you shouldn't have a problem with graininess --or just blend the oatmeal into a powder before you add the other stuff). I tossed in a handful of spinach and used vanilla protein powder instead of vanilla and sugar, since it was a post-workout smoothie, and it tasted amazing.

I halved all ingredients because I just wanted to make one smoothie for me. I did as other reviewers suggested & blended the oatmeal before adding the other ingredients to break them up. Once you do that, nobody can tell that oatmeal is in the drink. I did not have rolled oats so used old fashioned oats. My smoothie came out very thick, I had to add more soymilk to make it drinkable, maybe because my strawberries were big. It was good, I probably will make again.

It was very good, many people complain that it was grainy or they could taste the oatmeal but I couldn't. The first tip I will give to those people is let the blender cycle for at least a minute, on mine I just press the smoothie button, and let it cycle for at least a minute, maybe more if you do not have a quality blender, I have a blendtec blender I use fresh strawberries over frozen not as cold as it would be if it had frozen but that doesn't bother me so much. Highly recommend this recipe to anyone.

This is yummy and easy to make. I first ground up the oatmeal as others suggested. I didn't have any strawberries so used a fresh Okanagan Peach with the frozen banana! 1/2 cup of coconut milk and 1/2 cup vanilla greek yogurt. Delicious! Thank you!

This was fantastic. I also ground the oats to powder first and I love the texture and flavour. I only used 1/4 cup oats ground and that's perfect for me. I also used coconut milk and then agave instead of sugar. I omitted the banana because I hate bananas. I also added a couple ice cubes. It was absolutely delicious, but I ruined it with protein powder. Starting to realize i just hate that stuff.

Delicious! I took other reviewers’ advice and blended up the oats first. I added white beans for protein. It was really smooth and tasted like a milkshake!

Delicious! I also ground the oats into a fine powder and omitted the sugar and Vanilla since I used Vanilla Almond-Coconut milk in the recipe. The Bananas and Strawberries were sweet enough. The only small change that I did make was to add cinnamon to the mix, made it even yummier.

I've made this smoothie twice now. I used mixed berries instead of strawberries and skim milk because I had it on hand. It turned out Amazing. Loved it's so healthy. I didn't add any extra sugar. It didn't need it. The oats give it great texture.

Skip the sugar and it’s naturally sweet. I used oat milk.

Made with fresh strawberries, grass fed whole milk instead of soy and a squirt of honey instead of white sugar. Added some ice cubes because the strawberries were not frozen. If doubling, only double milk and strawberries, not the oatmeal, also sub a few tbsp hemp flax or chia for the oats

Instead of white sugar I’d use Agave instead if that’s okay

I added 3 dates, no sugar, and no extract. Turned out wonderful. Very filling and a great flavor and consistency after thoroughly blending.
