Cinnamon Swirl Bread Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cups white sugar, divided
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 cup milk
- cup vegetable oil
Directions
Step 1: Gather all your ingredients.
Step 2: Preheat the oven to 350F (175C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Step 3: In a small bowl, mix cup of sugar with 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Set this aside for later.
Step 4: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Step 5: In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vegetable oil. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Step 6: Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle with half of the reserved cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Step 7: Pour the remaining batter into the pan and top with the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture. Use a knife to swirl the batter and create a marbled effect.
Step 8: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes. To check doneness, insert a toothpick into the center of the loaf. If it comes out clean, the bread is ready.
Step 9: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 10: For the best results, wrap the cooled loaf in foil and let it sit overnight before slicing.
Step 11: Slice and serve. Enjoy!
