Easy and Simple Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 splash olive oil
- 1 cup rice
- cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 cup vegetable broth
- 1 cups water
- 1 head romaine lettuce leaves
- 1 dash soy sauce, or to taste (Optional)
- 1 splash lime juice, or to taste (Optional)
Directions
Step 1: Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the rice and cook, stirring constantly, until the rice turns golden brown, about 3 to 5 minutes.
Step 2: Add the chopped onion and garlic to the saucepan. Continue to cook and stir until the onion softens, which should take around 5 to 7 minutes.
Step 3: Pour in the vegetable broth and water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the saucepan and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is fully absorbed.
Step 4: Fluff the rice with a fork and cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes to ensure it's cooked to perfection.
Step 5: Spoon the rice mixture into the leaves of the romaine lettuce. Optionally, season with soy sauce or lime juice to taste.
