Bacon Ranch Cheese Ball Recipe
Ingredients
- 8 slices bacon
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 (1 ounce) package dry ranch dressing mix
- 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
- teaspoon garlic powder
- cup minced fresh chives
- Crackers for serving
Directions
Step 1: In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium-high heat. Turn occasionally and cook until evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Once browned, transfer the bacon to paper towels to drain and cool. Once cool enough to handle, crumble the bacon.
Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, ranch dressing mix, dried minced onion, garlic powder, and half of the crumbled bacon. Stir until well combined. Place the other half of the crumbled bacon in the refrigerator for later use.
Step 3: Shape the cheese mixture into a round ball. Its easiest to use plastic wrap for shaping. Once shaped, wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Step 4: While the cheese ball is chilling, mix the remaining crumbled bacon with the minced chives on a plate.
Step 5: Once the cheese ball has chilled, remove it from the plastic wrap and roll it in the bacon and chive mixture. Lightly press the topping to ensure it sticks.
Step 6: Place the coated cheese ball on a serving dish and surround it with crackers for dipping. Serve and enjoy!

I make this every Thanksgiving, at the request of family and friends. I follow the recipe exactly, minus the bacon. Very delicious and enjoyed by everyone. I roll it in chopped pecans and serve with "vegetable round" crackers.

I’ve made a version of this for years and I’m happy to find the recipe again and it is scrumptious. It’s always a big hit. Roll in chopped pecans for a special amount of yum!

This a favorite go to when I want something that looks fancy but is so quick to make. The recipe can be doubled very easily. However instead of a cheese ball, I make it into a cheese log. That way there's always plenty of the good stuff on the outside for all to enjoy until it disappears. It's also very easy to tweak a bit with a dash of cayenne or your favorite herb, I like dill sometimes.

Perfect as is or to simplify- bacon bits, green onion, cream cheese, ranch dip mix, and shredded cheddar. Done! Super YUMMO!

I did not like this at all, it had too much ranch seasoning in it (yes I used 1 oz) and I love ranch seasoning! Maybe cut the ranch seasoning in half but even then I didn't think it had much flavor (other than ranch).
