Recipe for Fresh Tomato Preparation

Ingredients:

  • 3 tomatoes, cored

Directions:

  1. Fill a large bowl with ice cubes and water, and set it aside for later use.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat.
  3. With a knife, make a small X on the bottom of each tomato.
  4. Carefully place the tomatoes in the pot of boiling water and cook them for about 10 to 40 seconds, or until the skins begin to peel off.
  5. Transfer the tomatoes immediately to the bowl of ice water and allow them to cool for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Once the tomatoes are cool enough to handle, peel off the skin from each tomato.
  7. Cut each tomato in half crosswise and remove the seeds, discarding them. Then, finely dice the tomato flesh into small pieces.
