Recipe for Fresh Tomato Preparation
Ingredients:
- 3 tomatoes, cored
Directions:
- Fill a large bowl with ice cubes and water, and set it aside for later use.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil over high heat.
- With a knife, make a small X on the bottom of each tomato.
- Carefully place the tomatoes in the pot of boiling water and cook them for about 10 to 40 seconds, or until the skins begin to peel off.
- Transfer the tomatoes immediately to the bowl of ice water and allow them to cool for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Once the tomatoes are cool enough to handle, peel off the skin from each tomato.
- Cut each tomato in half crosswise and remove the seeds, discarding them. Then, finely dice the tomato flesh into small pieces.
