Basic Keto Cheese Crisps Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400F (200C).
  2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Generously shred the Cheddar cheese.
  4. Place 24 small heaps of shredded cheese on the prepared baking sheets, evenly spaced apart.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 7 minutes, or until the cheese turns golden brown.
  6. Allow the cheese to cool for 5-10 minutes before carefully removing it from the baking sheets.

I have been making these for several years. You can choose to make them larger and create taco shells using the same method, simply folding them into taco shapes (over a wooden spoon handle or a similar object) before they cool. Additionally, this recipe can also be prepared in the microwave. Depending on your microwave's power, it usually takes about 2 minutes to prepare a platter. Remember to line the microwave turntable with baking paper beforehand to prevent sticking.

I recently tried out my air fryer and preheated it to 400F. I experimented with cooking small batches of mild cheddar and mozzarella cheese, waiting 2, 3, and 4 minutes for each. I found that the mild cheddar needed less time, while the mozzarella required some extra minutes. Both turned out delicious, and I didn't even need to add any extra spices to enjoy them.

Simple and delicious recipe! The Colby Jack chips turned out a bit rubbery at the suggested time, but an extra 10 minutes crisped them up perfectly. I also made Parmesan chips which needed a little more time as well. This was an excellent snack for my son who follows a keto diet, and I enjoyed it too!
