Best Spanish Rice Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 1 cups uncooked white rice
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup picante sauce
Directions
- Gather all ingredients.
- Heat oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, approximately 5 minutes.

Delicious! I made this dish with Pace Picante Sauce and a mixture of brown and white rice. Next time, I will opt for all brown rice as it is much healthier. Surprisingly, we couldn't even detect the usual blandness of brown rice; the flavor was impeccable. The only drawback is that it takes about 30 minutes to simmer, so it ended up being the last part of our dinner to complete. ;)

I opted for brown rice for its nutritional benefits, reducing it to 1 1/4 cups, and increased the broth to 2 1/4 cups.
