Old-Fashioned Baked Beans Recipe

Ingredients
- 10 cups water
- 2 cups dried navy beans
- 8 slices crisply cooked bacon, crumbled
- cup chopped onion
- cup packed brown sugar
- cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups water
Directions
- In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water and navy beans to a boil. Cook at a boil for 2 minutes.
- Stir in the crumbled bacon, chopped onion, brown sugar, molasses, and salt into the boiling water.
- Carefully pour the mixture into a slow cooker.
- Cook on High, stirring occasionally, for 4 hours.
- After 4 hours, stir in 3 cups of water to the mixture.
- Continue cooking for an additional 2 hours and 15 minutes, or until the beans are tender.
