Seafood Linguine

This flavorful seafood linguine brings together a medley of fresh shellfish and pasta in a rich, tangy tomato sauce. Perfect for a special dinner or an indulgent meal any day of the week.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 pounds sea scallops
  • 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound calamari rings
  • 24 mussels, cleaned and debearded
  • 24 littleneck clams, scrubbed and rinsed
  • 3 (14.5 ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 (6.5 ounce) cans chopped clams
  • cup olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 (16 ounce) packages linguine pasta

Directions

Step 1: Gather all the ingredients and prepare your workspace to ensure smooth cooking.

Step 2: In a large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sea scallops, shrimp, and calamari rings to the hot oil. Stir occasionally and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the scallops and calamari are opaque and the shrimp turn pink. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 3: In a separate pot, bring water to a boil. Add the mussels and littleneck clams to the boiling water. Cook for approximately 3 minutes or until the shells open. Once done, remove the shellfish and rinse with hot water to clean.

Step 4: In a large pot, pour in the crushed tomatoes, water, chopped clams, cup olive oil, onion, red pepper flakes, garlic, oregano, parsley, and salt. Bring this mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.

Step 5: Once the tomato sauce comes to a boil, add the cooked scallops, shrimp, calamari, mussels, and littleneck clams to the pot. Reduce the heat to low and let the seafood and sauce simmer together for 1 hour, allowing the flavors to meld.

Step 6: About 10 minutes before serving, bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook until al dente, about 10 minutes. Drain the pasta and rinse with hot water to prevent sticking.

Step 7: Serve the seafood mixture and sauce over the cooked linguine. Enjoy this delicious seafood feast!
