Ingredients
This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly. Original recipe (1X) yields 8 servings:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound spicy pork sausage
- 1 medium onion, diced
- (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
- 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chiles (such as RO*TEL)
- (8 ounce) can tomato sauce, or more to taste
- 1 (12 ounce) package corn tortillas, warmed
Directions
Step 1: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 2: Add the ground beef, spicy pork sausage, and diced onion. Cook and stir the mixture in the hot skillet for 5 to 7 minutes until the meat is browned and crumbly.
Step 3: Drain and discard the excess grease from the skillet.
Step 4: Stir in the taco seasoning until the meat is well-coated with the spices.
Step 5: Add the diced tomatoes and green chiles, followed by the tomato sauce. Let it simmer for a few minutes, until the mixture is heated through.
Step 6: Spoon the meat and tomato filling onto the warmed corn tortillas.
Recipe Tip
Add more tomato sauce if you prefer a thinner filling.
