Rib-Eye Steaks with a Soy and Ginger Marinade Recipe

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Grilled Rib-eye Steaks with Sweet Soy Marinade

Original recipe (1X) yields 4 servings

Ingredients

  • cup soy sauce
  • cup real maple syrup
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • teaspoon sesame oil
  • teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • cup beer
  • 4 (10 ounce) beef rib-eye steaks

Directions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, mustard powder, sesame oil, and hot pepper sauce. Stir well to blend the ingredients.
  2. Add the beer to the mixture and gently stir to combine.
  3. Prepare the steaks by scoring any fatty areas with a knife. This helps prevent the steaks from curling during grilling.
  4. Place the steaks in a casserole dish and pour the marinade over them. Use a fork to poke holes into the steaks, allowing the marinade to penetrate the meat. Flip the steaks over and repeat the process.
  5. Cover the dish with plastic wrap or foil, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight to allow the steaks to marinate.
  6. When ready to cook, preheat your grill to high heat.
  7. Place the steaks directly on the grill. Sear one side for about 15 seconds, then flip and cook for approximately 5 minutes on the other side.
  8. Turn the steaks over again and cook for another 5 minutes for medium-rare. Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of your steaks. Test for doneness by cutting into the center of the steak.
