Rib-Eye Steaks with a Soy and Ginger Marinade Recipe
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Grilled Rib-eye Steaks with Sweet Soy Marinade
Original recipe (1X) yields 4 servings
Ingredients
- cup soy sauce
- cup real maple syrup
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- teaspoon sesame oil
- teaspoon hot pepper sauce
- cup beer
- 4 (10 ounce) beef rib-eye steaks
Directions
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, maple syrup, garlic, ginger, mustard powder, sesame oil, and hot pepper sauce. Stir well to blend the ingredients.
- Add the beer to the mixture and gently stir to combine.
- Prepare the steaks by scoring any fatty areas with a knife. This helps prevent the steaks from curling during grilling.
- Place the steaks in a casserole dish and pour the marinade over them. Use a fork to poke holes into the steaks, allowing the marinade to penetrate the meat. Flip the steaks over and repeat the process.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap or foil, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight to allow the steaks to marinate.
- When ready to cook, preheat your grill to high heat.
- Place the steaks directly on the grill. Sear one side for about 15 seconds, then flip and cook for approximately 5 minutes on the other side.
- Turn the steaks over again and cook for another 5 minutes for medium-rare. Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of your steaks. Test for doneness by cutting into the center of the steak.
