Beer Batter Fish Fillets Recipe
Beer-Battered Cod
Yield: 8 servings
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- teaspoon dried dill weed
- cup beer
- cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 pounds cod fillets
- 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
Directions:
Step 1: In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder, and dill. Stir to mix evenly.
Step 2: Add beer, milk, and eggs to the dry mixture. Whisk everything together until smooth and well combined.
Step 3: Place the cod fillets into the batter, making sure they are well coated. Allow the fish to sit in the batter for about 15 minutes.
Step 4: Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375F (190C).
Step 5: Carefully place the coated fish fillets into the hot oil. Fry in batches, ensuring the oil temperature stays consistent, until the fillets are golden brown and crispy.
Step 6: Once cooked, remove the fish from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
