Cook Time: 120 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup dried black beans
- 3 cups water, or more as needed
Directions
- Step 1: Place the dried black beans in a large bowl and cover them with 3 cups of water. Let the beans sit for 5 minutes. Discard any beans that float to the surface. Drain the water.
- Step 2: Add 3 cups of fresh water to the soaked beans in the same bowl. Cover the bowl and allow the beans to soak for 4 hours or overnight. Drain the water again.
- Step 3: After draining, transfer the soaked beans into a rice cooker. Add 3 cups of fresh water and set the cooker to the "Porridge" setting. If needed, add more water during cooking. Let the beans cook until tender, which should take around 2 hours. Drain the beans once more before serving.
