Korean BBQ Beef (Pul-Kogi) Recipe
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 pound beef top sirloin, thinly sliced
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- pear, peeled, cored, and minced
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon rice wine
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Directions
- In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the thinly sliced beef with garlic, pear, green onions, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, rice wine, sesame seeds, fresh ginger, and black pepper. Seal the bag tightly and refrigerate the mixture for 2 to 3 hours to marinate.
- Preheat the oven's broiler, placing the oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source. Lightly brush oil over a grill pan to prevent sticking.
- Remove the beef mixture from the fridge and place the marinated beef onto the grill pan in a single layer.
- Broil the beef, turning it occasionally, for 3 to 6 minutes, or until it is evenly browned and cooked to your preferred level of doneness.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven and serve immediately, garnished with any remaining sesame seeds if desired.
