Ingredients
This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly.
- pound lean ground beef
- pound ground veal
- cup dry bread crumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons soda water
- 1 tablespoon seasoning blend (such as Vegeta)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
Directions
Step 1: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the beef, veal, bread crumbs, onion, egg, soda water, seasoning blend, garlic, baking soda, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Mix everything well.
Step 3: Shape the mixture into small sausages and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 4: Preheat an outdoor grill to high heat and lightly oil the grate.
Step 5: Grill the sausages until they are browned, about 5 minutes per side.
Cooks Note
You can use ground lamb or pork in the meat mixture if you prefer. Additionally, you can shape the mixture into round patties for easier flipping. If you don't want to grill the sausages, you can also pan-fry them in oil instead.
