Garlic Cream Sauce over Chicken Breasts Recipe

Ingredients
- 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- teaspoon salt
- teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- cup chicken broth
- cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
Directions
Step 1: Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
Step 2: Season the chicken breasts with oregano, basil, salt, and pepper on both sides.
Step 3: Grill the chicken on the preheated grill for 5-6 minutes per side, or until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165F (74C). Remove the chicken from the grill and set it aside to keep warm.
Step 4: While the chicken is cooking, heat butter and vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add chopped garlic and saut for about 2 minutes, until fragrant.
Step 5: Whisk in flour and cook for about 1 minute until fully incorporated.
Step 6: Slowly add the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring constantly. Continue to cook for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Step 7: Stir in Parmesan cheese and cream cheese. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes until both cheeses have fully melted into the sauce.
Step 8: Spoon the creamy Parmesan sauce over the grilled chicken breasts. Serve the remaining sauce on the side for dipping or additional pouring.

Absolutely scrumptious! I prepared the chicken in the oven along with rice and drizzled the sauce over the top. I covered it with foil and baked it at 350 degrees for 1 hour. The rice turned out exceptionally tasty. Next time, I plan to experiment by adding noodles to see which combination I prefer. My husband raved that it was sinfully delicious.

I tried out the sauce recipe, but I doubled the quantities and included lemon juice and green onions. Additionally, I prepared Tuscan marinated chicken, grilled it to perfection, and served it alongside a delightful Normandy blend of vegetables including squash, carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower. Absolutely amazing! I followed the directions the first time and it turned out great. Then, I decided to make it again with some modifications. I pan-seared the chicken and then used the same pan to prepare the sauce. I cooked some fettuccine, mixed it with the sauce, and topped it with sliced chicken and Parmesan cheese. Personally, I think I enjoyed the modified version more, although the original recipe was also quite delicious.

My wife and I adored this dish! Following a recommendation from another reviewer, I opted for 1/3 fat cream cheese and fat-free half & half. We enjoy garlic, so I added 3 teaspoons of chopped garlic. The sauce is so flavorful that it can easily be paired with pasta in future dishes.

Fantastic for a speedy meal! The only adjustments I made were using 1% milk instead of heavy cream, but it turned out incredibly delicious! I also included parsley in the chicken seasoning for an extra flavor kick.

This experience was quite disappointing. Despite high expectations from the reviews, the sauce was underwhelming, resembling a basic Alfredo sauce. Paired with unremarkable chicken, the dish fell short of my hopes. I do not plan on preparing this again.

I really enjoy this simple recipe. My tip would be to halve the ingredients if you're using it as a sauce for cooked chicken, and to make the full recipe if you're using it as a cooking ingredient.
