Grilled Salmon in Foil Recipe

Grilled Salmon in Foil Recipe

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Original Recipe Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cups brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 2 (1 pound) fillets salmon fillets, cut in half
  • Aluminum foil
  • cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke, or more to taste

Directions

Step 1: Preheat your outdoor grill to medium heat. Lightly oil the grill grate to prevent sticking.

Step 2: In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, sea salt, lemon-pepper seasoning, and seasoned salt.

Step 3: Coat the halved salmon fillets with the seasoning mixture, ensuring they are evenly covered.

Step 4: Place the salmon fillets on 2 to 4 sheets of aluminum foil, depending on size. Drizzle the fillets with olive oil and liquid smoke for added flavor.

Step 5: Fold the top of each piece of foil over the salmon, leaving the sides open. Create a tent-like structure to allow heat to circulate around the fish.

Step 6: Place the foil packets on the preheated grill. Cook the salmon for 15 to 25 minutes, depending on thickness, until it easily flakes with a fork. Open the foil during the last 5 minutes of cooking to allow the salmon to lightly brown.

Tips

  • If you don't have a grill, you can also bake the salmon at 350F (175C) for 15 to 25 minutes. Adjust cooking time based on the thickness of the fillets.

I found it decent, but my husband really enjoyed it, so we rated it 4 stars overall.

This dish was both easy to make and delicious. The salmon fillet was thick, yet cooked perfectly in just 15 minutes. During the final 5 minutes of cooking, I removed the fillets from the foil and placed them directly on the grill to achieve beautiful grill marks.
