Air Fryer Spicy Bay Scallops Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound bay scallops, rinsed and patted dry
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400F (200C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the bay scallops, smoked paprika, chili powder, olive oil, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Stir until the scallops are evenly coated with the spices.
  3. Transfer the seasoned scallops to the air fryer basket, spreading them out in an even layer.
  4. Air fry for about 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time to ensure the scallops cook evenly.
  5. Once cooked through, remove from the air fryer and serve hot.

The dish was a little too spicy for my taste. In the future, I'll omit the cayenne pepper.

I accidentally used too much oil, which affected the crispiness. It might have turned out crispier if I had stuck to the original amount. Next time, I would use this spice mix with fresh chicken pieces. The flavor was delicious and the spice level was just right, not too spicy.

These came out fantastic! I used a parchment liner to minimize the mess, and they turned out moist and flavorful. I only used regular paprika along with some other seasonings that I had on hand.
