Salmon with Brown Sugar Glaze Recipe

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Sweet and Savory Broiled Salmon

This quick and easy broiled salmon recipe combines the rich flavors of Dijon mustard and brown sugar for a deliciously unique dish that's perfect for any occasion. Ready in just 20 minutes, this meal is both flavorful and nutritious!

Ingredients

  • Cooking spray
  • 4 (6-ounce) boneless salmon fillets
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven broiler and adjust the oven rack to about 6 inches from the heat source.
  2. Lightly grease the rack of a broiler pan with cooking spray to prevent the salmon from sticking.
  3. Season the salmon fillets with salt and black pepper on both sides, ensuring an even coating.
  4. Place the seasoned salmon fillets onto the prepared broiler pan, skin-side down.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar and Dijon mustard until smooth and well-combined.
  6. Evenly spoon the brown sugar and mustard mixture over the salmon fillets, spreading it out to cover the surface of each piece.
  7. Place the broiler pan with the salmon under the preheated broiler. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily when tested with a fork.
  8. Once the salmon is done, remove it from the broiler and serve immediately. Enjoy!

If you add about 1/2 cup of Jack Daniels whiskey, a little minced garlic, and a tsp of lemon juice to the base recipe marinade, it takes an already great recipe and makes it outstanding!!

Use honey instead of brown sugar, add some soy sauce, use dry prepared mustard and you have the exact recipe that Windsor Court Grill Room uses for their Honey Mustard Glazed Salmon

Loved it! Only used 2 filets, since there are only 2 of us. The rest of the ingredients stayed the same. I did change the cooking method though. Cooked in oven at 375 degrees for 15 minutes, refreshed the glaze, then broiled for 5 minutes. Will definitely be making again.

Loved it. But I'm pretty much "one step cook". I mixed, melter butter, mayo ( I love sir Kent, because there's no additives) , parmezhan and mazarrlla cheese, pepper poored it all over, and baked at 400 until flaky with cheese golden on top. Perfect, jucy, mild taste and melts in your mouth. I had halibut steaks 1 inch thick, baked in glass pan.

OH MY!! I made this recipe last night. Unbelievably good. I will definitely make this recipe at least twice a month. Has plenty of possibilities by changing the dry spices. And, since my husband and I like more savory than sweet dishes, I reduced the sugar to 1 Tbs. packed brown sugar and added 1/2 tsp. garlic powder and 1/4 tsp. onion powder, 1/2 tsp. black pepper and 1/4 tsp. sea salt to the mixture. I then stirred everything in a small bowl and basted the salmon steaks (two, each about 6 oz.) on all sides, placed on a rack inside a small baking dish and broiled for 15 minutes. I did reserve about a tablespoon of the basting mixture for serving. A definite keeper. Thank you Tamara.

This recipe is AMAZING! I mean even the kids can’t get enough of it. I have followed some of the changes in the comments to enhance the recipe though. I heat the oven to 375 and cook it for 30-40 mins. I also read the last time I made it to add small cuts in the salmon and make sure the brown sugar and mustard goes in there and it was one of the tastiest things I’ve eaten! I sometimes also add a little more brown sugar so it stays on the salmon when cooking.

You really have to be careful not to overcook the fish or burn it given the sugary glaze. I let mine go about a minute too long tonight. But if you time things right, it’s terrific.

I added soy sauce as some suggested and thought it was very good. I baked it in my gas range. I will definitely make this again.

Baked it and added steamed broccoli the last 10 minutes. The broccoli picked up the marinade taste and everything was amazing !

I go with the brown sugar, Dijon, and soy. Glaze it up pretty good, then a few minutes before it is done do it again.

Using the directions without elaboration, it turned out tasting excellent. And it was so simple. It may be my go-to salmon recipe for awhile.
