This dish was SO GOOD!!! Wish I knew about it when I lived in Hawaii and bought saimin by the pallet. Of course, I had to switch it up a little bit: After the noodles cook for 2 min, pour out half the water. Put back on low heat and add the whole seasoning packet. Scramble an egg into it with a fork until cooked. Mix in 1/2 tbs butter and 2 slices American cheese until melted. Delicious!

As others suggested I only used 1/2 the seasoning packet. Added a splash of cashew milk at the end with the slice of cheese and microwaved an additional 30 seconds (3:30 cook time total) Was great, don't know why I've never tried it before.

This is why I love this site. Recipes and ingredients I might never think to try - but do! - pleasantly surprise me!! Please try this before you weigh in. If you’re turned off my processed cheese or non-gourmet ramen? Move along. After an afternoon of running 100 errands, came home and I was starving! Wanted something quick and remembered seeing this recipe. Made two servings - one with chicken flavored ramen and the other with beef. In the beef version, used 2 slices Kraft cheese slices. In the chicken, used 1 slice plus a couple TBLS shredded cheddar. In both cases, topped with green onions (I needed to use up) and drizzled with a little Siracha. I’m no chemist but there is something about the processed (American) cheese that makes for a creamier result. This was like a spin off Mac N Cheese. I liked the beef ramen version better. This is budget friendly, great for novice cooks, super quick and filling. It’s also adaptable for the more mature palette. Would i make often? No but it IS a quick lunch and would make again. If I had found this when I was 20, I would have made all the time! Thanks Emily! This was fun!

Thanks for sharing! So many people really don’t know about the joys of Top Ramen! You can also take 1 or 2 raw eggs, whip them up, and slowly pour them into the boiling water before adding the seasoning packet and noodles. It gives you a little egg drop soup.

My "Go To Sauce" lately has been Ragu's Double Cheddar Sauce. Being a senior with a small appetite, a recipe of Mac & Cheese is far too much for me. I take 1/4 cup of the sauce and add it to 1 1/2 ounces of cooked pasta with a dash off pepper and it's wonderful. After seeing this recipe I decided, Why not Ramen Noodles. I cooked the noodles in 3 cups of water with the whole flavor pack and drained it completely. Added the sauce and pepper. Perfection.

I have made this with mac and other pasta adding my own dehydrated vegetables, herbs and spices. It is an easy lunch or lite dinner and I bet kids love this too. Velveeta works well in place of American cheese slices too. I never tried this until a couple of years ago so not everyone is aware how good this is.

I made this. I made a version of it adding cheddar cheese cooked bacon, green onions, and small dollop of sour cream Next time I plan to try wilting fresh spinach and sautéed mushrooms with sautéed onions. Any pizza topping combination you like will work realy.

I first had this recipe in Korea. The cooks would add hot dog slices or chunks of Spam and frozen corn kernels or frozen peas. I prefer to make this in the microwave using the noodles in the individual bowl. Add the water and seasoning packet, microwave for three minutes, take out of the oven and stir in 1-2 slices of cheese and a handful of frozen veggies. Delicous! I was never a huge fan of the hot dogs or spam but my friends loved it. A pat of butter also makes this creamier but also adds fat and calories. Very good. Thanks for posting.

Love the recipe. Omit the flavor pack, to overpowering. I used cheddar cheese, Parmesan, a bit of cream cheese and sour cream and half and half , mustard powder and nutmeg. Very good.

Fantastic...I recommend dressing it up. Root Veggies, crab, poached or softboiled egg, green onion, bean sprouts, corn and/peas. Anyone know what that red sauce is on the picture?

I enjoyed this ramen recipe. Made it with both mild cheddar cheese slice and once with sliced white American cheese. Added splash of Soy Sauce and sliced green onion tops. Easy and quick. For added cheesy flavor I sometimes add two slices of cheese.

I made this for my daughter, she loved it until she realized I had used American cheese. I’ll use shredded next time.

I love eating this now and then. I've always shredded my cheese because it melts much better. I have also added frozen mixed veggies when cooking the noddles and the liquid will be gone once it's all cooked then add the cheese salt pepper soy sauce. If I really want to make the meal bigger I bake a potato in the micro wave split it and dump the noddles and veggies on top the potato!

I messed it up because I've never made ramen and didn't realize you had to drain before...I bet the correct way is so much better!
