This recipe has quickly become a beloved favorite in our household! I like to roast red peppers alongside the mushrooms and add them with some fresh mozzarella a few minutes before the mushrooms are done, allowing everything to melt together perfectly. Topping it off with fresh basil adds such a nice touch! Pairing it with cauliflower rice makes for a delicious meatless meal option that we all enjoy.

Rewritten review: Absolutely scrumptious as a burger! Many marinades often overpower dishes with an excessive amount of vinegar, but the addition of wine provided a delightful balance. I marinated whole portobello caps, substituting a lovely Merlot for cooking wine and opting for Tamari instead of Soy sauce - a subtle yet effective swap. I mixed all the ingredients in a measuring cup, coating the caps thoroughly. After a brief flip on the grill, I topped them with Gorgonzola and served them on a crusty roll. My boyfriend, who had been skeptical about portobellos previously, couldn't stop praising how amazing they tasted. His exact words were, "...better than steak."

You'll want to balance out the sharpness of the balsamic vinegar. I decided to enhance the flavor by incorporating a tablespoon of maple syrup, a teaspoon of kosher salt, a sprinkle of pepper, and replacing the cooking wine with rice wine vinegar. The result is incredibly delicious!

This dish was delicious! I substituted 1/4 cup of cooking sherry for the wine and added extra garlic. I sliced the mushrooms before marinating and baking them. I served the dish over a mixed green salad and used the liquid and garlic as the dressing—it was fantastic!

Substitute regular red wine for cooking wine and you've got a winner with this recipe. I like to add red peppers to the marinade, cook them separately, then mix them in with the mushrooms. Put it all on some focaccia with greens and you have a delicious dish.

Quick and convenient to prepare for baking. I typically sauté in a pan, so I'm excited to try out this new technique. Thank you.

I tried making this dish with red wine but didn't enjoy it as much as the grilled mushroom recipe I made last weekend. The simple combination of garlic, soy sauce, and onion in that recipe was more to my liking.
