Lemon Thyme Chicken Tenders Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 6 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves stripped and chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 pound chicken breast tenders
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil-flavored cooking spray
Directions:
- In a large bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, chopped thyme, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
- Season the chicken tenders with salt and pepper, then toss them in the oil mixture. Let the chicken marinate for about 5 minutes.
- Spray a non-stick skillet with cooking spray and heat it over medium-high heat.
- Place the marinated chicken tenders in the skillet and cook for about 4 minutes per side, or until they are lightly browned and cooked through. An instant-read thermometer should show a temperature of at least 165F (74C) when inserted into the center of the chicken.

My family thought this was really good. I did not have fresh garlic or thyme so I used 1 tbsp garlic powder and 1 tbsp dried thyme. Also, I did not have a fresh lemon on hand, so no lemon zest. However, we found that it had a great lemony flavor without the zest. Very flavorful, but I'm sure it would have been even better with fresh ingredients. Did I forget to mention this recpe is SUPER EASY AND QUICK!! 5 stars!

We have a bumper crop of thyme this year, so I've been searching out recipes that feature it. These tenders turns out delicious! I made a few changes to the recipe: doubled the amount of fresh garlic, added a couple slices worth of freshly ground bread crumbs (for crunch), and cooked indoors on a grill pan. These turned out crispy and savory! My fiancée is a picky eater and he raved about them. Will definitely make again...quick and tasty! I served with mashed potatoes and roasted veggies.

Like other reviewers, I sliced boneless, skinless chicken breasts, used dried thyme since I didn’t have any fresh and skipped the lemon zest (no time). I marinated the chicken 30 minutes then threaded it on skewers and grilled them. Delicious! This will become a summer staple!

Very good! This is becoming a staple in my house. I split two large boneless skinless breasts in half and marinated in 1/2 c. lemon juice, 2 cloves garlic, tablespoon olive oil, fresh and dried thyme, and approximately 2 teaspoons lemon zest. I marinated for about 1h, but I wish I would have had a bit longer. Depending on the thickness of your chicken breast, stovetop grilling takes 5-6 min.

Like many others,I didn't have the fresh garlic, thyme,or lemon zest. I used 1 tbsp garlic powder, 1 tsp ground thyme & abt 2tsp lemon pepper. Olive oil was also substituted with canola oil....yet it STILL came out Fabulous~! Marinated the chicken for close to 30 minutes as I prepared the alfredo pasta..then baked chicken @ 350 for 30 minutes. It was an amazing combo!

This was a lovely light meal! I used lemon thyme from my garden and when I put the chicken in the pan to sear on the first side, I added some smoked paprika also the rest of the marinate. It came out soooo juicy with a little Smokey flavor. I paired it with steamed Brussels Sprouts and some garden rice. I will definitely make this again. Thin bone-in pork chops I’m thinking next.

Very flavorful and easy! My first time growing lemon-thyme and using it and I am in love!! I used chicken breasts, marinated like the recipe said, then place the chicken in a glass baking dish. I poured the marinade over the chicken and baked at 375 for 35 minutes. Will definitely serve again!

Very good. I recommend marinating longer than 5 minutes for better flavor throughout. Needed to cook for closer to 4.5 minutes per side. First batch looked good but could have been cooked longer. Heat adjustment could obviously fix this, but the lower flame gave it the perfect browning.

Really good. I used dried thyme and dried lemon zest. Marinated 10 minutes, cooked four minutes on one side, turned the meat over and added the remaining marinade to the pan and cooked the tenders the remaining four minutes. Served with brown rice and steamed broccoli.

This was very good even though I used dried thyme - just a pinch. Marinated only 1/2 an hour and the flavor was great. Wonderful leftovers. I used chicken tenderloins.

Excellant! Reduced calculted recipe to "two" Used one large boneless chicken breast for three people. Pounded it out for even cooking. Did not have fresh lemon juice so used bottled and increased the "calulated garlic" to one whole clove and then marintaed for about 30 mins. while I prepared rest of dinner. Fantastic! Served with roasted root veggies and steamed brussel sprouts, all fresh from the garden. Nothing better!

Super easy! We love lemon chicken and this is another recipe to add to that way of making chicken. Like the idea someone suggested of adding smoked paprika so I did that too. Also, did not have fresh thyme so used dried and just added extra.

A very simple recipe with a nice lemony flavor. Some what plain by itself but tastes great sliced on a salad.

These were very good! I tend to add smoked paprika to many dishes so this one was no exception. But it was very tasty - full of flavor and the lemon was not too strong. The only thing I think it needs is a "sauce" of some kind. I cooked mine down as the chicken darkened and developed a slight "char" but hubby suggested an aioli of some kind and I think he's onto something :)

Moist and tasty. Added butter to one side of skillet to saute onions and threw them atop 1.2 lb of chicken tenders. Cooked on med heat 5 minutes on one side, 4 on the other. Produced four servings, three for the freezer, one for just now :)

Well, I had some chicken tenders and thought it sounded good. I love the lemon & zest, but did add a total of 4 garlic cloves (that's me). It went together very quickly and turned out as promised. I normally cook with thighs (skin & bone) as I think white meat chicken is rather tasteless on its own; that is no fault of the the cook who submitted this recipe. It is a great recipe! I have saved it to try with thighs, next time. Thanks for sharing :)

Easy and delicious. Fresh thyme leaves add a distinct flavor.
