Maple Glazed Carrots Recipe

Maple Glazed Carrots Recipe

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 pounds baby carrots
  • cup butter
  • cup maple syrup
  • Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • Freshly chopped parsley for garnish

Directions

Step 1: Gather all the ingredients before you start cooking.

Step 2: Place the baby carrots in a pot and cover them with salted water. Bring the water to a boil over high heat.

Step 3: Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and let the carrots simmer until they are tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 4: Drain the carrots and transfer them to a serving bowl.

Step 5: In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium-low heat.

Step 6: Stir in the maple syrup into the melted butter and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until warmed through.

Step 7: Pour the maple butter mixture over the cooked carrots and toss them to coat evenly. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

Step 8: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Cook's Notes

You can substitute honey for maple syrup if you prefer a different sweetness. For an added flavor kick, try mixing in teaspoon of ground cinnamon or a pinch of cayenne to the glaze. Fresh thyme or rosemary also make excellent garnishes.

These were very good. I only had regular carrots, so I sliced them and steamed them. One of my kids loved them, the other one not so much. I thought it was a nice change.

I sliced fresh organic whole carrots, steamed them in the microwave for 2 min 15 seconds, and drizzled on the maple syrup-butter mixture. This was a nice side dish for a roasted pork loin, mashed potatoes, and freshly-cooked apples. It really doesn't get much easier than this.

Used frozen sliced carrots which I cooked on the stove. Added the butter and syrup to the pan after I drained the carrots. Loved the flavor. It's a keeper.

I loved this recipe, but I tweaked it a bit. I added brown sugar, white sugar, rosemary, extra maple syrup, and LOTS of black pepper and salt. I also stuck it in the oven on 250F for 20 minutes to let in caramelize and soften more. It was kinda flavorless at first so I added the brown sugar at the end, after the oven.

This was VERY tasty! The maple syrup and butter were just the right amount of blending together. I did pour it over the cooked carrots and let it all simmer for about five minutes before serving though. And I used large carrots, cut into strips. Wonderful.

This was a great recipe! I didn’t have baby carrots on hand so I peeled regular carrots and cut them into 1/2” slices. I also used a little less than 1/3 c. of maple syrup then instead added 2-3 tbsp. of brown sugar and a few dashes of cinnamon. (I also omitted the salt and pepper).

Made this yesterday. Roasted the carrots instead of boiled them and used large carrots cut up as I didn't have baby carrots. It was very tasty.

Even the kids loved these carrots. I will definitely be making them again. I did roast the carrots instead of boiling them. PERFECTO!

Super easy and delicious! I steamed baby carrots and drizzled over the butter/syrup as directed. I sprinkled some no-salt seasoning on top, stirred it up, and good to go.

This was a pretty good, easy recipe. I used whole carrots cut into sticks. The cooking time on the carrots is way off. You shouldn't go over 8 min. Maybe baby carrots are tougher (haven't used them for ages, the whole are so much sweeter).

I added a tiny splash of cognac to the mix and they were the best glazed carrots I've tried! They were super easy and tasty.

Used broth instead of water for more flavor. Very good but took longer to get soft than directions said.

I love anything maple so thought these carrots were really good. I prefer the texture of large sliced carrots, so would use those instead next time.
