  • 2 cups farfalle (bow-tie) pasta
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • cup ketchup, or to taste
  • cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning blend
  • 1 pinch garlic salt
  • cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Directions

  1. Step 1: Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add the farfalle pasta and cook, stirring occasionally, until al dente, approximately 12 minutes.
  2. Step 2: While the pasta cooks, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook, stirring frequently, until browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Italian seasoning, and garlic salt. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for 1 to 2 minutes, then remove from heat and cover.
  4. Step 4: Drain the cooked pasta and transfer it to a medium casserole dish. Mix in the shredded mozzarella, Cheddar cheese, and poppy seeds.
  5. Step 5: Spoon the turkey mixture evenly over the pasta and cheese. Serve immediately while warm.
