Rice Paper Fake Bacon Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoons miso paste
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring
  • teaspoon ground paprika
  • teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 sheets rice paper

Directions

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400F (200C).

Step 2: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the sesame oil, soy sauce, maple syrup, miso paste, liquid smoke, paprika, and black pepper until well combined.

Step 3: Stack the two sheets of rice paper and submerge them in a bowl of cold water for about 30 seconds, or until slightly soft and pliable.

Step 4: Using a pizza cutter, slice the hydrated rice paper into strips.

Step 5: Dip each rice paper strip into the prepared soy sauce mixture, then place them on a sheet of parchment paper.

Step 6: Carefully place the parchment paper directly on the oven rack.

Step 7: Bake in the preheated oven for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the strips are dry and crispy.
