Quick and Easy Teriyaki Beef Stir-Fry
Ingredients
This recipe is scaled to serve 4 people. Adjust quantities as needed, but cooking times remain the same.
- cup water
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon honey
- teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil, divided
- 1 pound beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
- 1 small head broccoli, cut into florets
- 6 ounces snow peas
- 1 medium yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions, for garnish
Directions
Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together water, soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, honey, and ground ginger until smooth and fully combined.
Step 2: Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat is nicely browned, about 4 minutes. Push the beef to the side of the wok.
Step 3: Add the remaining tablespoon of sesame oil to the center of the wok. Add broccoli florets, snow peas, bell pepper slices, and minced garlic. Stir the vegetables continuously for 2 minutes, keeping them crisp-tender.
Step 4: Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir everything together and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and evenly coats the ingredients.
Step 5: Transfer the stir-fry to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately while hot.

Delish! Quick and easy, I did add water chestnuts and am extra teaspoon of starch to thicken sauce. We like it spicy on our house so crushed red pepper (about a tablespoon) and some red pepper (1/2 tsp) was just the ticket 😉

This was great! I prepped the veggies ahead of time and used a good quality pre-sliced sirloin. Only adjustments to accommodate what I had on hand: white onion instead of green, no snap peas, liquid aminos instead of soy sauce, and a splash of coconut aminos. I used about half of the called for brown sugar. Sauce thickened nicely. We really enjoyed this easy, inexpensive meal and will make it again.

Having fried off the steak it needs to be removed from the wok to rest. Otherwise all well but could be better with personal additions. Do not forget to put steak back in. Lol.

The sauce didn’t thicken up for me and it kinda tasted bland. Not sure what I did wrong!

Delicious! Most of the prep time is cutting the veggies. I decided to airfry the steak for 12 mins and cook veggies about 2 mins longer than the recipe asked for. Served with Thai rice noodles. Great and easy to follow recipe....I will definitely make this again. This would also taste great with chicken or even shrimp.
