Air Fryer Lobster Tails with Lemon-Garlic Butter Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 (4 ounce) lobster tails
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
- 2 wedges lemon
Directions:
Step 1: Gather all ingredients.
Step 2: Preheat the air fryer to 380F (195C).
Step 3: Butterfly the lobster tails by cutting lengthwise through the centers of the hard top shells and meat using kitchen shears. Cut to, but not through, the bottoms of the shells. Gently spread the tail halves apart. Place the lobster tails in the air fryer basket with the lobster meat facing up.
Step 4: Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the lemon zest and garlic, cooking until the garlic becomes fragrant (about 30 seconds).
Step 5: Transfer 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture to a small bowl. Brush this butter onto the lobster tails. Discard any leftover butter that has been in contact with raw lobster to avoid contamination.
Step 6: Season the lobster tails with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 7: Cook the lobster tails in the preheated air fryer for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the lobster meat becomes opaque.
Step 8: Spoon the reserved butter over the lobster meat. Top with freshly chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
Recipe Tip: You can use frozen lobster tails, but be sure to thaw them before following the instructions.

I've made this several times. Oddly the recipe photo doesn't match the described process. The photo isn't showing the tails to be "butterflied", just split. For my experience butterflying the tails makes it a challenge to get the meat to leave the bottom shell. My suggestion is to split the hard upper shell then pull the meat out, close the shells and let the meat rest on top of the hard top shells. Follow the recipe from there, it's tasty and easier to eat.

My first time ever cooking lobster and it turned out amazing. I had small tails an 5 minutes was long enough; food continues to cook when it comes out of the air fry or oven. Consider shortening the time minute or two to allow for this.

This was excellent!! And easy as can be. I placed them in a small piece of tinfoil to hold in the butter mixture. So this added about 3 minutes to the time.

It was great. I used Tony’s Cajun seasoning and old bay instead of salt and pepper.

I'd make this again. The wife said it had great flavor and wasn't dry. The only thing I changed was the butter mixture and actually pulled the lobster from the shell and sat it in top of the shell.

Highly recommend using the air fryer for "broiling" your lobster tails. Turned out great. I cut the shell lengthwise, pulled the meat away from the shell and laid it on top. Came out perfect!

For any fairly experienced Lobster Chef, this is so simple and so delicious. Anyone can do it, just cut the shell in the manner explained.
