Cinnamon Roll Swirl Coffee Cake
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cups milk
- 2 large eggs
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- teaspoon salt
- cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
Topping:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cubed
Glaze:
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 5 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350F (175C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, milk, eggs, baking powder, vanilla, and salt. Stir until fully mixed.
- Gradually pour in the melted butter and mix until well incorporated. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the topping.
- Cut in the cubed butter using two knives or a pastry blender until the mixture is crumbly and well combined.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the batter. Use a knife to gently swirl the mixture into the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze in a small bowl.
- Once the cake is done, remove from the oven and drizzle the glaze over the warm cake.

Be sure to use softened butter when making the brown sugar component.

Five stars for simplicity and flavor. The only adjustment I made was using half a cup of butter in the cinnamon sugar topping. This tastes delicious whether served warm or at room temperature.

I regret to say that I was extremely disappointed with this product. It had an excessive amount of butter, making it feel heavy and look unappetizing. I ultimately had to discard it.
