Blueberry Cream Cheese Wontons Recipe

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

This recipe yields 48 servings in its original form. Quantities adjust automatically for different yields, but cooking times and instructions remain the same. Note that scaling may not be perfect for all recipes.

  • (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 48 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup blueberry pie filling
  • Water, as needed
  • Cooking spray
  • cup powdered sugar

Directions

Step 1: Cut a 4-ounce block of cream cheese in half, then cut each half again to make four pieces. Cut each of these pieces in half once more, giving you a total of eight equal pieces. Set aside.

Step 2: Work with six wonton wrappers at a time, spreading them out on a clean surface. Take one piece of cream cheese and divide it into six smaller portions, placing one portion in the center of each wrapper. Add 1 teaspoon of blueberry pie filling on top of each cream cheese piece, being careful not to overfill.

Step 3: Lightly moisten the edges of each wrapper with water using your finger. Fold each wrapper diagonally to form a triangle, then bring up the two remaining corners to meet at the top, creating a neat sealed pocket. Press seams firmly to avoid air pockets that can cause bursting. Cover finished wontons with a damp paper towel while you prepare the rest.

Step 4: Preheat the air fryer to 325F (160C). Spray the basket lightly with cooking spray and place as many wontons as will comfortably fit without overcrowding. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray as well.

Step 5: Air-fry the wontons for 5 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack and dust with powdered sugar. Repeat with remaining batches. Serve slightly warm or at room temperature.

Cook's Notes

  • You can assemble these up to 8 hours ahead of time. Place in a single layer in a sealed with a damp paper towel in the fridge until ready to air fry.
  • Uncooked wontons can be frozen. When cooking from frozen, add 1 minute to the air-fry time.
  • If an air fryer is unavailable, bake in a preheated oven at 375F (190C) for 8-10 minutes on a lightly sprayed baking sheet.
  • 1 cup of pie filling equals 48 teaspoons. Starting with a little extra helps prevent shortage while filling wontons.
