Carrot-Apple Baby Food Recipe

Servings: 5

Ingredients:

  • 2 carrots, peeled and sliced, or more to taste
  • 1 apple, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 4 teaspoons breast milk (or formula, or water)

Directions:

  1. Place the sliced carrots into a saucepan and cover them with water.
  2. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the diced apple to the saucepan and simmer for another 5 minutes, or until the carrots and apple are soft.
  4. Drain the carrots and apples, then transfer them to a blender or food processor.
  5. Add the breast milk (or formula, or water) to the blender and pure until smooth.
  6. Allow the puree to cool before serving.

Cook's Notes:

  • You can substitute breast milk with formula or water, depending on your preference.
  • To store, fill an ice cube tray with the pure and freeze for up to 2 hours. Once frozen, transfer the cubes into a resealable plastic freezer bag.
  • To defrost, place the cubes in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds or until heated through.
