Cranberry Apple Oatmeal Recipe

Apple & Cranberry Oatmeal
Ingredients
This recipe yields 2 servings.
- 2 cups water
- 1 apple, cored and diced
- cup fresh cranberries
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
- cup brown sugar
- teaspoon ground cinnamon
- teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 pinch salt
- cup chopped walnuts
Directions
- In a medium-sized pot, combine water, diced apple, and fresh cranberries. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
- Once the water is boiling, cook for about 5 minutes, until the cranberries have burst and the apple has softened.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt to the pot. Stir well to combine.
- Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, for 2 to 3 minutes until the oatmeal thickens and the liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and top with chopped walnuts before serving.
