My wife had never tasted grits before, so I decided to make them for her. I cooked them with a mixture of water and milk, and added crumbled bacon bits at the end. They were delicious the day I made them, but even more delightful the next day when I shaped the leftovers into patties and fried them in butter. While not the healthiest choice, they were definitely a flavorful treat!

I have fond memories of my grandmother cooking creamy and perfectly prepared grits when I was growing up. Her secret was adding a splash of milk, which made them even creamier. I've recreated her recipe and even added my own twist with what I like to call "Breakfast Succotash" - mixing cheese grits with scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage. It's a delicious dish that always brings back happy childhood memories for me!

I decided to add five cloves of garlic towards the end, and it turned out wonderfully. I will definitely be making this dish again.

Simple to prepare, I decided to make only half of the recipe since it was for my husband from the South. He thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the cheesy grits.

I really enjoy this recipe because it yields more food than I can eat in one meal. I usually store the leftovers in the fridge and have them the next morning, and they taste delicious even when reheated.

Hilarious, the "recipe" here is literally just what's written on the grits bag. :) It was my very first attempt at making or trying grits. We all found them to be quite bland and lacking in flavor. Perhaps it's an acquired taste? We might give it another shot.
