Halloween Fruit Snacks Recipe
Ingredients
This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly.
Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings
- 4 ounces dried apricots
- 4 ounces dried peaches
- pound seedless green grapes, halved
- 2 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon water, or as needed
- cup small candy eyeballs
Directions
- Arrange dried apricots and peaches on a large platter.
- Skewer a few grapes onto a toothpick vertically, and then add the last grape horizontally to form the "head" of your caterpillar.
- In a small bowl, mix confectioners' sugar with water until you get a thin, slightly sticky icing. You may need to adjust the water amount to achieve the right consistency.
- Using the icing, attach two candy eyeballs to each piece of fruit, and place two on the horizontal grape head of the caterpillar.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to enjoy!
Cook's Note
Dried mangoes also work great for this recipe. You can even cut them into pumpkin shapes for a festive twist!
