4-Ingredient Bacon Ranch Cheese Ball

4-Ingredient Bacon Ranch Cheese Ball

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 strips bacon
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons dry ranch dressing mix
  • cup chopped pecans

Directions

Step 1: Place the bacon in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat. Turn occasionally, and cook until the bacon is evenly browned, about 10 minutes. Once cooked, transfer the bacon strips to a lined baking sheet with a drip tray and refrigerate until crisp.

Step 2: In a bowl, spread out the softened cream cheese. Sprinkle the ranch dressing mix over the cheese and blend well until fully combined.

Step 3: Chop the cooled bacon into fine crumbs, reserving 2 tablespoons for later. Add the remaining chopped bacon to the cream cheese mixture.

Step 4: Using clean (and gloved) hands, roll the cream cheese mixture into a ball. Refrigerate the ball for 30 minutes to allow it to firm up.

Step 5: In a small bowl, combine the reserved bacon crumbs and chopped pecans. Once the cream cheese ball has chilled, cover it with the bacon-pecan mixture.

Step 6: Refrigerate the ball until ready to serve. Before serving, allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes for optimal flavor and texture.

This recipe is a simple and quick solution for unexpected or planned gatherings! The addition of Ranch Dressing mix brings a delightful and unique flavor to the mix. If you don't have gloves, you can use plastic baggies on your hands secured with a rubber band around your wrist. After thoroughly coating the cheese ball, I found it convenient to roll it into the baggie for setting in the refrigerator. The combination of bacon and pecans creates a delicious sensation on the palate! I opted for low-fat cream cheese to reduce the calorie content, and that's all it took. I recommend using real bacon instead of fake bacon bits for a genuine bacon flavor. This cheese ball pairs perfectly with baguette slices or any type of cracker.

I made adjustments to the recipe due to my severe nut allergy, substituting extra bacon for the nuts. It would be greatly appreciated if alternative options to nuts were included in all your recipes for those of us with nut allergies. I value my life more than any recipe and would like to see nut-free alternatives provided whenever nuts are used in a dish.
