Air Fryer Smoked Salmon Wontons Recipe

Air Fryer Smoked Salmon Wontons Recipe

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 (6 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 3 ounces cold-smoked salmon, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoons minced capers
  • 1 tablespoons finely minced red onion
  • 48 wonton wrappers
  • Water as needed
  • Cooking spray

Directions

Step 1: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, chopped smoked salmon, minced capers, and finely chopped red onion. Stir everything together until well combined.

Step 2: Fill a small bowl with water for sealing the wontons.

Step 3: Working in batches of six wonton wrappers at a time, lay them out on a clean surface. Place 1 teaspoon of the salmon mixture in the center of each wonton. Be careful not to overfill, as this can cause the mixture to spill out during cooking.

Step 4: Dip your finger in the bowl of water and gently wet the edges of each wonton wrapper. Fold each wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal. Try to avoid trapping air inside the wonton to prevent it from bursting while cooking.

Step 5: Lightly wet the bottom of the triangle and fold the right side over the center, followed by the left side. Press all the edges to secure the wonton. Repeat this process for all the remaining wontons.

Step 6: As you finish making each batch of wontons, place them on a tray and cover them with a damp paper towel to keep them from drying out.

Step 7: Preheat your air fryer to 330F (166C).

Step 8: Lightly mist both sides of the wontons with cooking spray.

Step 9: Place the wontons in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they dont overlap. Cook in batches if necessary, without overcrowding the basket.

Step 10: Air-fry the wontons for 5 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time for even crispiness. Once done, remove them from the air fryer and place them on a cooling rack to cool slightly.

Step 11: Continue cooking the remaining wontons in batches until all are crispy and golden.

Step 12: Serve the wontons slightly warm or at room temperature. They make a perfect snack or appetizer!

Cook's Notes: You can prepare the wontons up to 8 hours in advance. Place them in a single layer, covered with a damp paper towel, inside a sealed in the fridge until ready to air fry. They can also be frozen uncooked just let them sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before cooking and add 1 extra minute to the cooking time.
