"Spa"ctacular Frozen Grapes Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup seedless green grapes
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes
  • cup white sugar

Directions:

Step 1: Remove grapes from stems and place them in a colander. Wash thoroughly to remove any dirt or residue.

Step 2: Transfer the cleaned grapes into a gallon-size resealable bag. Pour cup of white sugar into the bag, then seal it securely.

Step 3: Gently shake the bag to evenly coat the grapes with sugar, making sure all the grapes are well covered.

Step 4: Lay the grapes out on a paper towel to air-dry any excess water, allowing about 15 minutes for this process.

Step 5: Once dried, spread the grapes in a single layer on a shallow pan or baking sheet.

Step 6: Place the pan with the grapes in the freezer and let them freeze for at least 2 hours or until solid.

Step 7: Once frozen, enjoy your sweet, chilled grapes as a refreshing snack!

You can also use Sugar Free Jello for an added flavor.

"Spectacular" little recipe! Ya just gotta love it when a few items you have laying around the kitchen turn into something a little extra special... I've frozen fruit before, but never grapes. And while they're delicious with or without sugar - that addition gave regular 'ol grapes a little pizzaz. I did use less sugar than called for and opted for Spenda which made the amount even less. This was so easy and tasted oh so good - very nice little treat without any guilt.

I've been freezing grapes for years. NO SUGAR necessary! I recommend this to my girlfriends who are dealing with night-sweats. It is also a great way to extend the life of grapes. If grapes begin to show a little too much ripe-ness, rewash and individually bag approximately 10-20 grapes per zip-lock bag. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!, especially in the middle of the night when you wake up in a puddle of sweat.

Awesome. We really enjoyed this sugary frozen treat on a hot evening. No need to even complete steps 4 and 5. The grapes went straight into the freezer inside the resealable bag. Easy and delicious!

Have you ever tried all natural frozen cotton candy flavored grapes? You can find the cotton candy grapes at some HEB stores and at Sam's. They are so delicious to eat cold and a extra bonus frozen!!

Really pretty and oh so tasty - I didn't use nearly as much sugar as called for - maybe 1 teaspoon total - This was just enough to give the grapes that crystal effect - they actually taste a bit like a sorbet. Thanks for a fun idea.

skip the sugar and shake in a baggie with flavored Jello. Very tasty with peach or raspberry

I put the grapes in whipped egg whites first so the sugar coats them easily. Hey nothing wrong with a little sugar ! People get to crazied on minor things such as a little raw sugar ...

Agree that no sugar is needed. I freeze them in snack-sized zip lock bags so so we can grab individual servings on the go (although you must eat them before they completely defrost or they will be mushy).

These were pretty yummy and look really nice on a pretty plate. I think they would have been good frozen plain, but it depends on what sweetness you are in the mood for. I made 2 changes, I used two packets of Truvia (4 tsp regular sugar) and 3 tablespoons regular sugar to cut back on the calories. It wasn't very many calories saved, so maybe next time I will up the amount of Truvia, because it tasted fine.

These turned out very pretty with the sugar leaving them looking frosted. I didn't freeze mine as I have sensitivity to icy cold food, but left them out at room temp to air dry. The sugar clumped up in places on them and made really crunchy bits and the texture was pleasant against the tender grape center. These would be nice for a party as you only need a couple. They aren't something you'd want to make a snack out of, not because they aren't good, but because they aren't the best option if you are making healthy choices.

I don't understand why you people post all your negativity about what you would and would not change about this recipe. I have made these grapes as this recipe calls for, just with no sugar (my favorite) have any of you ever tried roasting them? They are wonderful give them a try. Can't tell you how long to roast them it all depends on how many you roast at a time. You will know when they are really to come out of the oven. Great to do it on the grill in summer.

Great! I made half without sugar and half with, and we loved both! Our grapes were naturally sweet so next time we'll cut down on the sugar mostly. I also tried it with monkfruit, DELISH. awesome recipe!

Unlike others I have never tried this. I took the suggestion from other reviews and cut the sugar. These turned out great. They look great also. I can think of several possibilities for these grapes.

I freeze them with no added sugar and put them in a glass of white wine. Keeps it chilled!

3.15.18 The texture reminded me of biting into a popsicle, just a nice little bite of icy sweetness.

I used two pinches of sugar and that was plenty. They were too cold for me.

Much too sweet, and ended up being very messy as well. On the plus side, my daughter tried regular frozen grapes without the sugar and now loves them!
