Cook Time: 5 minutes

Wonton Crisps with Cream Cheese

This quick and easy recipe creates crispy, golden wontons stuffed with creamy cheese. Perfect for a light snack or appetizer!

Ingredients

  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • cup cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon water, or as needed
  • Cooking spray

Directions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400F (200C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Step 2: Arrange the wonton wrappers on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 3: Place about 1 teaspoon of cream cheese in the center of each wonton wrapper.

Step 4: Lightly brush the edges of each wonton with water to help seal them. Then, fold each wrapper in half diagonally to form a triangle.

Step 5: Press the edges of the triangle firmly to seal. Then, fold the tips of the triangle upwards and inwards towards the center, pressing the tips together to secure the shape.

Step 6: Lightly spray the assembled wontons with cooking spray for an extra crispy texture.

Step 7: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the wontons for 5 to 7 minutes, or until they turn golden and crispy, and the cream cheese inside has melted.

I really enjoyed how simple it was to make these wontons without frying them. I sprayed them with olive oil and they turned out beautifully golden and crispy. This recipe is versatile and can easily be customized with extra ingredients to suit your taste. Thank you for sharing!

I have made these appetizers several times using Boursin cheese (herbed cheese) and they were a huge hit. We served them at our Super Bowl Party and they were devoured in no time. I should have made double the amount because they disappeared so quickly. I prepared them in advance and kept them from drying out by covering the baking trays with damp towels. They bake up incredibly fast. Next time, I'm thinking of experimenting with different fillings.

I used a boursin-style cream cheese for this recipe and it turned out absolutely delicious. The only issue was that I had to bake it for an extra 5 minutes to ensure that the wrap was nicely browned rather than raw or undercooked.

Added crab meat, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 shallot, and 1 teaspoon of onion powder to the recipe... absolutely outstanding! I will definitely be experimenting with a sweet version next time.

I enjoy enhancing my cream cheese with a generous serving of green onions (half to a whole bunch per container) and a splash of sriracha sauce (1 tablespoon per container). To top it off, I love dipping them in sweet chili sauce. Delicious!

These were a great success with everyone at the table! I decided to enhance the cream cheese by adding some chives for an extra flavor boost.
