Wonton Cream Cheese Bites
This simple and delicious recipe creates crispy, golden wonton bites filled with a creamy chive and onion cheese mixture, perfect for a snack or appetizer. Follow the steps below for a quick and easy dish!
Ingredients
- 6 wonton wrappers
- 3 tablespoons chive and onion cream cheese
- 2 teaspoons finely chopped cilantro (or to taste)
- Dried parsley (to taste)
- Water and oil (for sealing and brushing)
Directions
- Preheat your air fryer to 350F (175C).
- Place six wonton wrappers on a cutting board, orienting them like a diamond, with the points facing up and down.
- Spoon about 1 round teaspoon of cream cheese onto the bottom corner of each wonton wrapper.
- Sprinkle finely chopped cilantro and a pinch of dried parsley over the cream cheese.
- Moisten the bottom edges of the wonton wrapper with a small amount of water.
- Fold the top portion of the wonton wrapper down over the cream cheese to meet the two points at the bottom.
- Press and seal the edges together using your finger, ensuring that the cream cheese is sealed inside and no air bubbles remain.
- Fold the long corners of the triangle over on themselves to form a neat little packet. Seal the folds with a bit of water.
- Lightly brush each wonton with vegetable oil for a crisp finish.
- Place the wontons in the air fryer with the oil side up and cook for 5 minutes.
- After 5 minutes, flip the wontons over and dab each with a little more oil.
- Air fry for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the wontons are golden and crispy to your liking.
