Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 4 servings
- 4 cups vegetable oil
- 5 ounces seasoned crispy fish fry seafood breading mix (Louisiana brand)
- 1 pound Louisiana alligator prime filet, cut into 2-inch cubes
Directions
Step 1: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 350F (175C).
Step 2: Pour the fish fry mix into a 1-gallon resealable plastic bag. Add the alligator nuggets, reseal the bag, and shake to coat.
Step 3: Let the nuggets stand for 5 minutes, then shake the bag again to ensure they are evenly coated.
Step 4: Place half of the seasoned alligator nuggets in the deep fryer. Cook until golden brown and the nuggets float to the top of the oil, about 3 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160F (70C).
Step 5: Using tongs, transfer the cooked nuggets to a paper-towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Step 6: Repeat Step 4 and Step 5 with the remaining nuggets.
Step 7: Serve the alligator nuggets immediately and enjoy!
