Clean Banana Oat Cookies Recipe

Clean Banana Oat Cookies Recipe

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas, mashed
  • cup milk
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup rolled oats, or as needed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350F (175C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: In a bowl, mash the bananas. Add milk, beaten egg, honey, and vanilla extract. Mix well until combined.

Step 3: Stir in rolled oats, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt. Continue mixing until the batter is smooth. If the batter is too runny, add more oats to thicken it.

Step 4: Scoop mounds of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.

Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until the tops of the cookies are dry and the edges are golden brown.

Recipe Tip

For extra flavor and texture, feel free to add raisins, nuts, coconut flakes, peanut butter (microwave to soften), or drizzle with more honey before serving.

I really enjoyed these cookies. I ended up adding an extra 1/2 cup of oats, which resulted in more cookies, but that was not a problem at all. I included dried cranberries in my batch, and I found them to be delicious. I will definitely be making these again.

I absolutely loved how these cookies turned out and I am looking forward to making them again in the future. I made a few tweaks to the ingredients, like doubling the amount of vanilla and incorporating 1/2 cup of walnut halves. The food processor was a game-changer in achieving a smooth consistency with all the ingredients. I also decided to mix in an additional 1/2 cup of whole oats. The baking time of 15 minutes was perfect for my convection oven, resulting in cookies with a delightful texture. Next time, I plan to experiment with some suggestions from previous reviewers, such as adding nutmeg, raisins, or dried cranberries.

Super easy and convenient! This recipe is a fantastic way to make use of ripe bananas. I opted for using 2 frozen bananas instead of milk, resulting in a slightly soupy consistency. To thicken it up, I added an extra 1/2 cup of oats and threw in some toasted walnuts for a nice crunch. After just 15 minutes of baking, I had a delicious oatmeal ready to grab and go! For those with a sweet tooth, a drizzle of honey before devouring will do the trick.

I just made these cookies and they turned out fantastic! I followed the recipe exactly, but I added an extra 1/3 cup of oats as suggested. Additionally, I included 2 tablespoons of PB2, 1/3 cup of chopped pecans, 1/3 cup of raisins, 1/4 cup of chocolate chips, and 1/3 cup of fresh blueberries.

I tried making a variation of this straightforward breakfast cookie recipe and was pleasantly surprised by the taste. I made some modifications by reducing the recipe in half and adding 3 teaspoons of allulose and half a cup of craisins. With only one banana on hand, I realized midway that I needed more oats. I ended up adding an additional 3/4 cup of oats to the initial half cup. Despite the loose mixture, shaping them into cookies before baking resulted in perfectly formed cookies. Although I deducted one star due to the need for extra oats beyond the specified amount, the cookies turned out well.

I substituted raisins and date syrup for honey due to my diabetes, and the result was incredibly tasty. These bars are simple to make and absolutely delicious!

I made some substitutions in this recipe, such as using vanilla syrup instead of vanilla extract, baking soda instead of baking powder, and almond milk. Surprisingly, these changes didn't alter the flavor much, but the batter turned out runny. To compensate, I added more oatmeal, which ended up making the cookies bland. Despite adding brown sugar and extra ground cinnamon before baking, the cookies still lacked flavor. Following the suggested 15-minute cooking time left them slightly mushy, so I baked them for an additional 4 minutes, but unfortunately, it didn't improve their texture.

These treats were a breeze to make and had no added sugar, except for a touch of maple syrup.

I followed the recipe with a few modifications: I used protein oats and a protein shake instead of milk, added more cinnamon, and included an extra cup of oats because my bananas were larger than usual. The key was allowing the mixture to rest for an hour to let the oats absorb the excess liquid before cooking. It took 20 minutes to bake, but next time I'll let it sit even longer and might add some mini chocolate chips for an extra touch!

I was disappointed with the Chewy recipe as it turned out too runny. I had to add 2 extra cups of oats, but even then it was still too thin. After baking, the final result was far from being cookies.

We incorporated sultanas into the mix, but found that the recipe could have used a greater quantity of oats.

Absolutely loved this recipe. I omitted the sugar and, to be honest, could do without the little bit of honey too. I decided to add a generous amount of spices, and it turned out to be a delightful treat that fits perfectly into my Weight Watchers low point diet. I only used one banana but added plenty more oats, and it was delicious.
